Every year, The GreenHouse offers mentoring, tutoring and leadership development for over 300 children in the Gardenland Northgate neighborhood (which claims one the highest poverty rates in Sacramento). To help fund such an endeavor is the annual Kids at Heart dinner and auction fundraiser, to be held this Saturday, May 30, at 6pm in the Clunie Community Center Grand Hall. This Memorial Day weekend, you don’t have to travel far to have a great time with the family. Starting Thursday, May 21, and running through Monday, May 25, is the annual Sacramento County Fair at Cal Expo. An annual tradition since 1937, the 2015 Sacramento County Fair promises all the fun and food you’ve come to expect. There will be live music and other entertainment, demolition derby, professional bull riding and livestock shows and auctions. There’s the Midway of Fun, with more than 30 carnival rides. This coming Saturday, May 16, Clunie Community Center will host the performance of Native American artist and motivational speaker, Tony Redhouse.  A mixer will begin at 5:30pm, with the performance starting at 6pm.
