Aside from the demo of the old Sutter Memorial Hospital, there hasn’t been much new news on the development of Sutter Park Neighborhood, until now! There will be a community meeting on Thursday April 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Clunie Community Center in the McKinley Library to talk about the Sutter Park. It looks like this meeting is just to discuss the .6 acre neighborhood park that will be at the heart of the new development. One of the greatest ways to show someone you care this Valentine’s Day is to make something for them by hand. This is especially true for kids, who might not have the means to buy flowers or chocolates. So this Friday, February 12, McKinley Library will host an afternoon of hands-on crafts. Starting at 3:30pm, participants will create valentines out of card stock and other items. Fenix Drum and Dance Company

This coming Friday, February 5, come on by McKinley Library to help celebrate Black History Month with the Fenix Drum and Dance Company. Starting at 3:30, the troop will create a drum circle, around which they will perform traditional African dances and tell stories. This Friday, January 22, bring the kids to McKinley Library to see a very unique kind of puppet show. Starting at 3:30pm, Daniel Barash will demonstrate the art of shadow puppetry via a performance of folk tales from around the world.
