The 32nd annual National Night Out takes place this Tuesday, August 4. As the name of the event suggests, neighborhoods across the country will join together in the interest of crime and drug prevention. From 6-10pm, residents are asked to leave their houses (and lock their doors on the way out) and spend the evening outside meeting with fellow neighbors and law enforcement.
In addition to various block parties all around East Sac, East Sacramento Preservation will host its own National Night Out event from 6-8pm at 926 43rd Street. Police, fire department representatives and city and state legislators will be on hand to address concerns about crime and safety. (Plus, there will be ice cream and other treats for attendees.)
