The slow but exciting project of removing the old Sutter Memorial Hospital and building 125 new homes with some small retail and a park will see some activity in the coming weeks.
The environmental testing has started. They are testing the buildings and facilities as well as the soil on the site. Heavy equipment will be there digging sample holes and additional fencing will go around the property next week.
Before you get excited to see the site cleared and building of new homes start realize that they aren’t projecting to have the clean up activities completed until spring of 2017. I look forward to seeing this site turn into a vibrant part of East Sac but it looks like I’ll have to wait a while before I can help any of of my clients buy a home there.
